Week 3 Listening:
Pen Beats
This goes to show you that you don't need true instruments to make music. Just like how I can use a garden hose and my mouthpiece to make a "brass" instrument, you can take pens, pencils, rulers, chopsticks, etc. to make instruments. Perhaps you could come up with your own pen beat and show it to me? Just make sure you don't mark up whatever you are using as your drum (no countertops!)

Week 4 Listening:
Hang Timo
The instrument he is playing that looks like a UFO is called a hang drum. They are becoming more and more popular around the world. Unfortunately, they are very expensive but they sound so cool! Miss Howard has actually played one of these and they are very difficult! There are little dents in the "drum" and each dent has it's own pitch. I hope you enjoy the unique sound this instrument has.
