Regularly scheduled practice on our instruments is essential in order for us to perform to the best of our abilities in class and in band. Remember, a minimum of 3 practice sessions a week is required to receive an average grade of 3 for homework on our report card.
Winter Homework Assignment
December 16 ~ January 9
With nearly one month until our lessons begin again, it is extremely important that students make every effort to practice a MINIMUM of 3 TIMES A WEEK during winter vacation. Students should spend AT LEAST 15 – 30 minutes on each practice session and follow the practice routine listed below. Parents, be sure to SIGN YOUR CHILD’S PRACTICE SHEET as this will be checked closely in our very first class after winter holiday.
1. Warm-ups: Concert Bb Major-long tones 8 counts each, connected style articulation in duple, separated style in triple.

GKA BAND MEMBERS
Our next performance will be for the Ota City Elementary Band Festival on February 4, 2017 at Airy’s Hall. We have less than 8 rehearsals to prepare after you return from vacation so be sure to practice and review your band music as much as you can. Also, listen and play along with the audio tracks of the band music that are found on the GKA Music website.
